Manifesting is often defined as a practice where you purposely use thought, attraction, and belief to bring something into your life. It can be subconscious, too, and doesn’t discriminate between good and bad, which is why people say, “Be careful what you wish for–you just might get it!”
This is one of my favorite subjects and stems from a concept I learned many years ago from The Secret, a book by Rhonda Byrne. I’ve never forgotten the three-step process—to ask, believe, and achieve.
This was reinforced when I read Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich, where he interviewed the top leaders of his time over 20 years and developed his 13 principles that apply to both leadership and manifestation.
Why is manifesting important?
Countless people have become frustrated. They have an idea, a dream, and it has gone nowhere, despite the efforts they’ve made. So, they give up. They toss their hands in the air and say they’re done trying, that nothing they try ever works, so why bother.
They won’t want to hear that they might be responsible for that. That an attitude of “I can’t do it” can be manifested, too, if they believe that and say it enough.
Instead, focus on what you CAN do, what you DO want.
Divine Downloads
Many years ago, I faced some serious challenges to my health and other adversities. Instead of focusing on the negative, which would have been understandable, I developed an intense sense of urgency to help others.
Of course, we all experience manifestation in different ways. I describe my own time with manifestation as hopping from divine download to divine download. This is an inspiration with an amazing feeling in my heart, which means I must create it or make it happen.
Like most people, I get close to 50,000 thoughts a day. While most of them stay tucked down, some race to the top, like crème de la crème. These divine downloads are the ones that I know without question I must take on.
A great example of this was the time one of those divine downloads carried the message that I should become a pilot. Another that has created magic is when I knew seven years ago that I needed to create a foundation.
Since then, we have made an impact on 213 young girls, ages 12 to 25.
Amazingly, our one-of-a-kind book series, Today’s Inspired Latina, was another divine download to my heart, another incredible inspiration that I manifested, and I am grateful to know it has touched the hearts of so many readers.
How to Manifest Dreams
When you first consider manifesting, you must surrender into belief. In The Secret, this means you ask, believe, and receive. Start by sitting down and identifying what it is your heart wants. Is it a better job, making more money, buying the house of your dreams, or something else?
Next, you choose to believe. You think, okay, Universe, God, I believe this is going to happen. This is important and all about mindset, about believing in something greater than you. If you only believe what you can see, you’re lost because there is so much more than that.
I think that big dreamers and manifestors have always believed in something that they don’t see, and that is why they imagine–one of the greatest gifts of creativity and vision.
For instance, you might imagine a lemon and your mouth waters, thinking you are actually eating one. You can feel the tart, cool juice sliding across your tongue. You’ve thought about it so many times, your brain isn’t sure any longer if it’s true or not. Now, it believes.
Don’t Wait
If you get a divine download, don’t wait on it. Your job is to take steps to make it happen right away. Don’t wait because you need that energy, that inertia, to bring it from your heart and mind into the physical world.
That first step could be small, a micro-moment. It could be as simple as picking up the phone and making a call. You might call your best friend and say, I want to start a business together or let’s write a book.
It might seem tiny, but the wave of amazingness that results could turn into a tsunami and become magic.
Then, get ready to receive! How often have you prepared for the lousy things in life to happen, mentally hunched over with your hands over your head? You can stop that now and, instead, get ready for goodness, standing tall with your arms spread wide.
You deserve this. You are worthy. You have surrendered, stayed true to yourself, and been authentic. Now you are ready to receive the blessings God is sending you.
The power of manifesting has made me the victor over cancer, it has taken me to all four continents and made me a millionaire at the age of 37. That, in turn, has allowed me to be whatever I want to be, to travel with my family, and to be a blessing to others.
You can experience whatever you wish for, too. I can’t wait for you to begin living a life of abundance, good health, and happiness, through manifesting.
