7 Ways to Start Today
We often hear “find your passion and you will never work a day in your life,” but how do you even begin this process? How can the busyness of life allow us to be objective enough to discern what we are meant to do in life? Can we have multiple passions or just one?
Some of us find our passion(s) sooner than others, but to accelerate this process, I am excited to share some things that helped me find mine below. As you can see, it all starts with preparing the right mindset for the inspiration to flow.
- Recognize that there is something inside you that is bigger than everything you’ve ever known before.
- Believe in your passions, welcome them, hug them, let them run free.
- Focus on “a life of living” rather than “a life of doing.”
- Be vulnerable: Give until it hurts (just enough to make you feel like you’ve done something big), mentor a young person, give flowers unexpectedly, forgive someone (you know who—he or she has been hoping for this day), build somebody up, recognize a stranger—say their name and recognize something extraordinary in them.
- Open up your mind: journal, pick up a book you never thought to read, champion a local cause, talk to someone new.
- Be kind to yourself. Be patient and reasonable and, above all, be aware.
- Trust your inner whisper. Run toward the life you were meant to live passionately and beautifully as though it were the only train you ever wanted to catch.
Hope that you will remember the above action items in your pursuit of your passion(s). It is never to late to start living your life fully and intentionally.
