They say traveling makes the soul happy and allows you to experience a feeling like no other. Well I can surely attest to that as the adventures had in the last 70 days have been short of amazing. I’ve traveled to 6 countries and 3 continents and have attended or hosted over 17 events! Living out of my purple suitcase was an accurate statement. However, I couldn’t have done it without these 9 important principles and truths…
Collaboration
I first flew to New York where the most important newspaper in the world hosted us to host the first LATINATalks in NYC and had a second book launch for Today’s Inspired Latina: Volume 5. Collaborating with other powerful people and brands makes magic happen and is needed to grow any project. In New York we also hosted the first Today’s Inspired Latina and Latino Thought Makers with collaboration of Hollywood producer Rick Najera.
Packing Versatility and Flexibility
On to the next continent I landed in Belgium for the very first book launch of Today’s Inspired Latina: Volume 6 in collaborations with SHE. While we were there, we attended the Seminario de Hispanas Emprendedoras Conference and connected with Latinas from all over Europe. Traveling by train, car, and plane demanded me to be flexible and pack light and smart. New opportunities also arose as the TIL authors and friends were welcomed to the first castle built by a duchess in Belgium hosted by the mayor of 8 cities: Guy Van Hirtum!
Openness
Off to Paris we went where we held the second author photoshoot in front of one of the most iconic landmarks in Paris: The Eiffel Tower. Not to mention a second launch of the TIL: Volume 6. Paris gracefully opened its doors to us, and we hosted the 2nd TIL exclusive author dinner at a private cruise in the Siena River as well. The City of Lights reminded me that we are global citizens and should stay hungry and open to explore and see this world.
Energy Management
With all the travelling I do, I’ve had to learn how to manage my energy. I was in Costa Rica for approximately 30 hours to receive the prestigious and first-time award at the inaugural Congreso Anual. A humbling experience where I witnessed firsthand the power of serving other with love and joy. A phenomenal trip that although short full of energy and magic.
Global Vision
The journey then took me to Dubai! An incredible nation where I spoke at the second Independent Women Business Summit as a special guest. With an open heart I shared my mission with the audience and connected with strong, global, leading women. I am embraced a new culture and filled my heart with new experiences such as exploring the Burj Khalifa and riding a camel!
Organization
Although my travels kept me busy, at home the magic didn’t stop! Back in Chicago, I must stay organized to continue the execution of my events and projects. This year we had the 3rd Bellaza sold out event in collaboration with one of the most successful make up and beauty companies in the world: Estee Lauder. An unbelievable time celebrating and elevating women.
Focus
I must stay focused to ensure the landing of my events. The numerous partnerships we also have allow us to reach higher and further than we ever could alone. I am thankful for the partnership with the amazing WINTRUST Bank for the 6-event series at their local branches to host LATINATalks and the launch of Volume 5. Their focused dedication to make this happen alongside me is amazing.
Creating
The final principle I stand by as I travel is creating. I traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, were I successfully hosted the first TIL International Summit. From the moment this idea entered my mind to the day we opened the doors to this magical event, I was creating! The magic of travelers coming into a new country greeted by a transformative experience absolutely fills my heart!
As the year wrap ups, I am reflecting on all the success with my recent travels. All I can say is WOW. I now rest and prepare for what comes next. As for you, I invite you to incorporate these principles on your next travels. Whether you’re hosting an event abroad, traveling for work, or simply want to visit the world, live and travel intentionally. You never know that next adventure might change your life!
